Passionate klezmer that tells a world of stories

Tzeitel is a trio with a musical register that ranges from dazzling dance tunes to the saddest of laments by way of pieces with more hesitant rhythms and suggestive melodies – all performed with a dynamic sensitivity and precision that never fails to reach the hearts of its audience.

The group blends traditional klezmer music with newly composed material of its own. Their third album “Luftmentshen” was released in 2018.

The trio met at the Academy of Music and Drama in Göteborg, Sweden. A common interest in folk music brought them together and sparked off the long period of collaboration that was to become Tzeitel.

Selected influences: Kroke, Crakow Klezmer Band, John Zorn & Masada String Trio, Alicia Svigals, Astor Piazzolla

…Genuine klezmer feeling, full of wild musical fun as well as a deep sense of tragedy, performed with natural charm
